    Nordschleife Empty Nordschleife

Post by Tomas Torasen Mon Jan 10, 2011 10:55 am

    Hi all!
I just wanted to bring up the subject of this track.
How do the possibilities look for getting this track to netKar?
Is their any version at all available for conversion? Maybe even different versions? I think there is one for rFactor that is very good quality, but no idea if we could get the rights to convert it.
This track is legendary and it would be amazing to see it in netKar.
I really hope the developers at this site could consider looking into this!
And also, if more people want to see this track in netKar, shout it out here and show your interest please Wink

I'm sure this will require a huge effort, but IMHO this is THE track for every sim out there. Having it in NkPro would be AWESOME.

Mark asked permission to convert the good rF ver. but I don't know what the answer was. The issue's who has a computer to handle a track conversion of that size! Oh, I think there's an old namie conversion of the green hell, but I don't recall it being v.good.

I remember this old namie version, but it wasn't good - *really* too bumpy (and miles away from the graphical standard that we are seeing nowadays).

Mark Schilling (I called him Mark cos I can never remember how to spell his surname Razz). Here's the post, it seems he was given permission. Still you would need a monster machine for converting the ring. I don't think 3-6 GB of RAM (which most of us have) would be enough. I saw one person on the Max support forums had 13GB, that sounds more like it! Very Happy

If theres like one operation that is handled by the pc I could try it. I have 12 gb's of pretty fast ddr3 ram, i7 950, fast graphics card and so on.
Anything I can do to help.

You've just become my new best friend (just kidding) Razz Do you have 3ds Max? The operation would involve running a script, which takes ages, and is pretty temperamental so you have to leave your computer alone during the process (otherwise it's likely to crash).

    heheh ;P
I dont have it but maybe I could borrow it from a friend Razz
Send me a pm about more details and we'll try to organize it...
I guess after that I would need to send the file/s to someone that would need to finalize it for netKar..

    Hey guys Wink

Yea I asked Com8 for permission for a conversion to be done of his 2.2a version of the Nordschleife and he was cool with that.

    http://www.virtualr.net/nordschleife-22a-released/

I don't have the time or the hardware required to do this though so as I said in the other post, anyone that wants to do it, just let me know.

    This was his response...

Unfortunately I can't do it myself - short on time.
So you have permission to convert it - but please give me a version before release to check if it suits my standards!

    Cheers, Alex

So anyone wanting to contact him when they are done, to show him the progress, so he can check if it's up to his standards before he allows a release, you can contact him through personal message on his youtube page here...

    https://www.youtube.com/user/Com8

You can say that I passed on the permission and gave you the link so he knows what yer talking about.

    Hope this helps Wink
