    Hey guys, I poped over to freetrack, had a poke around, downed the software but couldn't get the handbook v2.1 or 2.2 their link to the PDF is down.
    I'm not too clued up when it comes to electronics, even though it looks very easy to put together the DIY components, its just not my thing. So I did a local search for TrackIr5 Pro Bundle and I like what I found, well, more to the point is, I like the price. I can land one at my door for AU$300 shipped.

    My failed attempt consisted of an LED from a car alarm (explanation later Smile), a 9v battery, some electrical tape & a chavy cap I borrowed from a sibling Very Happy

    From what I understand of it all, using UV LEDs is the best way to go, which is the way I'm going, (sweet talking the spouse failed) rofl.
    I have a MS lifecam 1000, going to get the bits N pieces today, let ya know how it goes.

    Using Wii remotes seems to be popular too. Is your webcam supported by FreeTrack? Mine's, but I still couldn't get it to work :s

    After upgrading to Windows 7 I tested FreeTrack again & now it detects my webcam (maybe cos my built-in one doesn't work in Win' 7).

    Here are the old bits I used:

    Exquisite! Now it is just a matter of mass production! Very Happy

    PS: Now that you are using a "head movement tracking device", you can think about trying to race with a smaller FOV... I'm currently using something between 30~40 (at first it felt weird, but then once I became used to it, never look back) on most cars, and this helped me to be more precise on race lines and timings.

    The C:\nkpro13\cars\FormulaKS2\nkdk\testDash.nkd file, you can change the colour, size & I think brightness of the readout.

    Still havn't gotten around to doing this project, been a little busy, and having no serious electronics store close at hand doesn't help.

    Thanks for the pics of your DIY set up Albert, glad to here it works on win7 for you.

    BTW is there an actual thread for this topic???.... maybe one should be started, if there isnt one.

    TEXTURE=font2.tga
    POSITION=-0.008,0.076,-0.001
    WIDTH=0.02
    HEIGHT=0.02
    COLOR=1.0,0.0,0.0

    I know there has been some recent speculation about what the M stands for, but it isn't albert Razz I think we could probably make a few topics out of this thread Smile
