yesterady I did a driving session on track with the KTM X-BOW, at the Riccardo Paletti Circuit, Varano de Melegari, Italy. It has been an amazing experience, the car is simply perfect, there is a lot of power, a lot of lateral acceleration, everything is really fine. However is really difficult to drive, with brutal reactions and a lot of oversteer. I spun two times, and I was near losing the control few time (see the video at 2.30 for example).
I mounted a gopro camera on the car and took a nice video, which is posted here (whatc in HD if possible)
And now...what about Assetto Corsa? It is since the beginning that i feel the cars to have too much traction. This feeling is much stronger after this on track session. With this car is almost impossible to open the gas when turning...ok, the track was not perfect, was cold and partially wet, but on dry sector in 3° gear at 60km/h I spun two times, with half of the gas applied (see the last seconds of the videos), and I lose the rear end in power oversteer at 110km/h exiting a turn in 3° gear (see video at 2.30)...I will open a threat on the AC official forum reporting my impression...AC is nearly perfect, it is such a shame that the traction is not real, I'm pretty sure it comes from a choice rather then a mistake on the model, to make the cars easier to drive...
Again, the KTM X-BOW is the best car I've ever driven, I hope you guys will have a chance to drive it in some way...
See you on track soon
