Re: Osellla in rain
Andrea, do you know if the "pre-1.3" or "1.3 beta" comes today? It would be disappointing not to have the new version by this evening.

Re: Osellla in rain
I posted essentially the same thing in another forum: personally I would love to see a "Donate" button on the NKpro website so that those of us that wanted to thank Kunos with something more than an email can do so.
Personally, I wouldn't mind sending $10 each time some bug fix or update is done (within reason) and $20+ if there is a new car release or something like that.
heck, I was even thinking that if Kunos found it feasible, they could have some of the modders and track converters submit the tracks and cars to them first so they can polish them up and make them "official" and then sell them at an affordable price and share the revenue. I would not be against something like that. In the modern climate you can't afford to keep releasing free updates to folks that last bought your software 4 years ago and hop[e to remain in business.
I know this is going to be controversial, but it just makes business sense to at least charge something for the updates. Charging for tracks and cars (could be packages to make it more affordable) or charging for any "service" they could provide would ensure that this project lives on and we can use it for years to come. It also would help in fixing the netcode and some of the graphic performance which right now are to me the biggest issues.

Re: Osellla in rain
Someone had a similar idea on the old RSC, of a kind of app store thing. The only issue's that for legal reasons Kunos could not be involved in that kind of business. I did read some old info' regarding netKar namie, where he compiled submitted cars, but now that would probably be unfeasible (for one we don't have a car editor)corrado conti wrote:I was even thinking that if Kunos found it feasible, they could have some of the modders and track converters submit the tracks and cars to them first so they can polish them up and make them "official" and then sell them at an affordable price and share the revenue. Regarding the whole donation thing, I'd rather pay for whatever stage netBike was developed to (with the understanding that development would not continue (unless it became really popular*))
*which I think it would**
**particularly if it was on the Xbox 360
Apart from that mad idea, if they created content packs, for example an FVA add-on pack type thing I'd certainly pay for laser-scanned tracks. I dunno if it would be worth while for Kunos though, with the costs involved and the return it would generate. Also piracy would be an issue, as it was with FVA.
