    mountain sprint Empty mountain sprint

Post by paul thomas Thu Dec 09, 2010 12:24 am

Noticed 2 mountain sprint servers up lately, is this track going to be released in the future. Last I heard the author wouldn't give his permission to convert to netkar pro. I take this has changed.

I'm working on it, it was virtually finished, but there have been some last minute design changes :s (and the conversion's authorised by Outrunner BTW).

mountain sprint Empty Mountain Sprint released!

Post by M Carey Mon Dec 20, 2010 7:12 pm

Back in the day (how annoying is it when people say that Razz), when Kunos apparently still had a full head of gorgeous hair, there was a circuit for netKar namie called Mountain Sprint. Now the circuit goes PRO, with the conversion of the lastest rFactor version, authorised by Outrunner himself!

The only problem with this track are the 90 deg barriers running along the track. Nightmare!

it was even worst before, with sidewalks of 10-15 centimeters. A small error and you had no chance anymore. This was introduced in rfactor as an anti-cheater method with people riding the rails to go faster Evil or Very Mad . This is not possible with nk, likely! For this reason Marius decided to lower the sidewalk and to make it at the same level of the tarmac.
The 90 degree barriers are still there, but anyway, that mean that you have taken the corner completely wrong Wink

Yeah, in the Abarth you have to completely miss the apex, but in the F1800 all it takes is a twitch mid-corner. I tried to find version 1.0 of the rFactor ver. (as it didn't have the curb extensions), but couldn't, all I found was GTL & GTR2 conversions which were the same. Also changing the barriers to 45 degrees just warped them.

If a solution's found I'll post an update, but unless someone figures out how to convert the original nKPro format (so I can maybe merge the old barriers in max), it looks like we'll have to live with it :s

P.S. The news item on the radiators-champ site shows how the curbs were (before they were lowered).
