For me every Sim / Game also needs such a fun element or hill to have some stunts, if you want to, for some fun.. . I like that hill there, hope they will not remove it from the track Wink.

@Attilo: No, you're not slow (anymore Wink) it seems, I think you have a good pace with the BMW M3 GT2.. . I drove some laps there @Valleluga after your posting with a best of 1:37.3 min. so far, but a mistake in the first part of the track, which cost me up to 1 sec. .
On the Formula Abarth my pb is as well exactly a 1:37.3 min. Smile@ Valleluga at the moment. Basically I drove with default setup at both cars, but did some changes at tires (camber, toe, ..).

1.34.8, at the third lap with bmw GTR at Vallelunga (! :-))...and with soft tires (not supersoft)...
I've got a new pc yesterday because of AC (thx Antonio for having configured it), I'm very happy, the pc is superfast, the game is really smooth (it never happen before with my old PC and NKpro)...

Just few comments on Assetto Corsa: it is nice...but...I find it a little too easy to use, in comparison with NKpro; there is too much traction with all the cars, it is quite impossible (difficult I mean) to loose the rear end by applying full power...I've read only very positive comments here in the forum, so I'm afraid my opinion will be destroyed...but I find Assetto Corsa a little bit too much arcade....

Any comments on that? I'm sure some people will share my same feeling...

I think it is not really more arcade, it just feels such, but is not (if you understand, what I mean with that), -because of different -but not more unrealistic- physics and immersion than we were used to.
I can lose rear quite easy, in fact this is the main 'difficulty' here and there, when pushing (throttle) too much or when you make a dump corner-entry Very Happy.
Also in the BMW GT2: I find it really difficult to drive that car thruogh those two left-hander hairpin-corners @Valleluga. In the first one you lose rear very easy on throttle + at entrance (when locking tires) and on the second slow hairpin this car understeers too much (because of this car's characteristic), so that it is sometmes just luck, if you can get through that corner at a reasonable speed or not.

    --

Btw.: In AC I miss a bit of those measurements of the real camber, Hz, aero-calc., ride-high values, as they were/are shown at the bottom of some setup tabs in NKPro.
So without having those helps in AC, it might be more difficult/taking more time to find a good (balanced) setup. Don't know (experience/testing will show).. .

The 458 is the only one which allow a little power oversteer, but the ral car you can't almost open the gas until you are on straight (see the video of fernando driving the 458 for example)...the z4, the m3 is almost impossible to power oversteer, that is unrealistic, belive me! I have the impression that kunos put more traction in the phisic to have a more driveble model, but this is unrealistic...i hope they will change it soon!!! A part from this aspect I like ac!

I don't think the laps that Massa or Fernando drove @ Catalunya were at the limit. In the end such are just laps for some show, playing around a bit to make it look spectacular in a way, but really smooth / save (they don't want to be an idiot and end up in a wall, spin around or s.th.).

I can't agree the grip is too high. For example: When you downshift too early and then get too much motorbrake.. the rear 'locks' and you lose the rear with Lotus Elise, Lotus 49 and else.., really difficult for some inexperienced new drivers to not get lost of the rear in such situations [and 'make a Mika Häkkinen 1999 @ Monza' as he downshifted one gear too much or too early to the 1st gear instead of using 2nd gear in a chicane and spun out].
In that matter all other sims I played were a bit more simple.

And regarding throttle: I don't expect a Sim to simulate the (less) traction on the power in a 1(Sim) : 1(real pedal) way. We have only simple pedals with sometimes less margin(space) from 0%-100% at our pedal apply and so on, so it (traction at throttle) has to be a little more simple I think.
Also I don't think all those cars are really such difficult to control/drive on throttle in real than you might think Wink. There would be a lot more spinning and such in real racing, if racing cars would be so much sensible on throttle, as you expect them to be. Especially a real GT car is quite stable and 'easy' to drive in general I assume (not at the limit that gets another story then), so the stable feeling of the BMW GT2 (I don't find it stable on a track like Valleluga with many different corners..) does not surprise me (also: It is a sporty BMW you know.. SmileWink).
A real DTM car for example is not difficult / always on the edge on some throttle I think, they seem to drive more like on quite stable rails on this matter.

[Some people even assume, that the 60s F1 cars were relying on even (much) more kind of grip in reality than the Lotus 49 offers in AC (not to speak about the maybe totally icey,
even more unrealistic less-grip-driving of that car in I(ce)Racing Wink.]

    Dear Marco,

I cannot agree with you....road cars with 350, 420, 570cv are very sensible to the throttle. Try to read every drive test about these cars, all say these they are very difficult to drive if we exclude any electronic device....take some look on youtube video, and you will see that without the ARS all these cars are very easy to spun...I repeat, very easy....It is not me saying this, but professional drivers...

I've a bit of experience with KTM x-BOW, the felling in AC is very similar to the reality, even the sound, the visual aspect and so on...but there is much less power oversteer then in the reality...I drove it on the road, I didn't push that much, so I cannot give a really significant direct feedback (maybe Andrea did more km than me)...but I was on the right seat with not-experience driver on road, and they spun almost at the first turn (it happen two times!)....I did several laps on Varano circuit with the 240hp version as passenger, with professional test drive and pilot on the left side...the car start to slide with the rear as soon as you open the gas, you have to be very gentle with the gas....in AC you can almost open the full throttle with out significant oversteer...

Come on guys....I'm sure I'm not the only one with these thoughts... :-)

I also find the X-Bow in AC very close to the real one. I had the possibility to drive it in a small internal track at Spielberg (A1-Ring, now called Red Bull Ring) with huge amount of space from barriers, so I could really push on the throttle without the fear of breaking the car. I'm not a professional driver obviously, so for sure I was far from pushing the car to its limit, but anyway, it was easy for me to put the car sideways, and it's easy to spin if you push too much on the throttle, especially if you have your wheel turned. It was also easy to feel the car and save it from a spin, counter steering. This is very similar to what is happening in AC though.
I don't fully agree with you this time, Fabio. If I apply full gas going out from a corner with AC xbow I do have power oversteer, just like in real life.
Maybe I misunderstood what you mean.

Its hard to discuss whether its too easy or too hard. Driving fast and on the limit is very difficult also in AC even though it feels easy in the beginning. Smile

I have driven the 458 the most on Imola and only began recently adjusting the setup to my liking. But doing low 53 times is pretty hard and its easy to power slide out of the corners, even on the racing slicks.

Fabio, if you could post some of your lap times then it is easy to see if you are pushing the cars to the limit, where its hardest to drive them. Personally i have done 1:53:2 in 458 on Imola, which i think is a pretty decent time. Smile

    Hello Martin,
Fabio is a dear friend, as well as an engineer working on race cars.
His judgment is a judgment very technical and certainly valid. Of course I expect one weeks, so who knows best the best simulator in the world. Fabio is also very fast on the track, not the fastest but very fast lol!

Thanks Gek for all these nice words! I have to come back saying you are probably the best driver ever on NKpro, and probably the same will be here!
I've just tried AC for two nights (my new pc arrived on Wensday), so I'm far away to be on the limit, I remember just 1.34.6 with BMW GTR at Vallelunga and 1.46.2 with F458 at Vallelunga, but there is much more to come in terms of time laps...
My consideration were about the car beahvior as first impression, I was shocked the BMW Z4 with front engine and 350cv without traction control is almost impossible to spin...We will see in the next days, I'm really courious to get as much feedback as possible to share with all of you impressions and ideas...
Impatient to met all of you on track!
