live - RSR Live Timing questions Empty RSR Live Timing questions

Post by Jon Denton Mon Jan 13, 2014 1:05 pm

    Hi,

I've done a fair bit of searching but seem to be missing a few things on the app. A few of us have got a bit of a competition going based around the app and have seen a few question marks (i don't think they are issues):

    1. If a player did not follow the installation guide properly and thus did not put in their user details in the sim correctly before connecting and creating a user, is there any way to change this?  I presume the steam user account mapping is now tied to the "wrong" user name?  We have people who seemed to add only a first name and no surname, for instance. When they added their surname (I know, don't ask me why they didn't do it before!), it says "driver not found"?

    2. What is the difference between "pro" (where the P is in the column) mode and normal?  I had thought it was tied to driver aids, but i see people with no driver aids turned on, that do not seem to be in "pro"?

    3. i have seen posted that laps get a red light and become invalid if any dirt is on a tyre, is this true?  I think we've seen this from experience but I would like to clarify.

Thanks kindly, and apologies if these questions have been answered elsewhere and I failed to find them.

    Kind regards,

    Jon.

    1) everything is linked to your steam account. You can change info in your profile anytime, and will be reflected automatically on the profile on the website (you need to go on track first), and all laptimes will be automatically updated.

    2) it's not only drivers assists, but also few more settings (temperature, tyre rate and fuel rate).
there is a section in the guide in which it's explained with some pictures

3)Yes. the lap is invalid if you have at all 4 tyres outside the track boundaries or if 4 tyres are dirty.

    Thanks Andrea.

It seems a couple of guys in our gang have tried changing their profile and it comes back with "driver not found". I will get them to double check today.

To clarify, so it says for one that they have they name set only as "first name", when he then adds "surname" to the profile within AC, the RSR app says driver not found. Do they need to change it on the RSR site too?

    Kind regards,

    Jon.

    Any change here

    should not create any issue.

You should get "driver not found" only in case you've changed your steam profile name after installing AC.

AC keeps the steamName you had when you installed it. If you change afterwards, you will get "driver not found".

Anyway, please tell them to send us a PM with their logs (in AC forum will be easier to upload files) and we will check.
Maybe we've introduced a bug with the latest modifications, and we haven't realized. We will check anyway.

Anyway this problem will be fixed by us in the coming release. We asked for new parameter that has been introduced in AC v0.5 that will simplify the user recognition.

Will there be checking for damage (the panel that appears on the left when the car "would be" damaged?

It seems one can lap Monza66 in the 49 about two seconds faster by just dragging on the wall in the lesmos! Very Happy

That's the reason why we've introduced the damage into the list of the variables we store at every lap.

For now we don't automatically discard the lap, but we will in the future. We are trying to understand which is the right threshold value for it.
