RSR Live Timing

Radiator Springs Racing Research and Development team proudly presents their first app for AC: RSR Live Time.

The aim of our app is to bring a live hotlap competition to Assetto Corsa Technology Preview.
At the moment our app is still a proof of concept, but it already includes all we need to make the competition fair and clean.

We will keep working on it, adding new functionalities in the next weeks.

   Initial release


16/03/2013: v0.9.9_002

   Redesign of the application internal flow to improve performance and error detection.
   App not working anymore in practice mode were is possible to record a lap cutting off road.
   Implemented Messaging System to inform about new versions or other important informations.
   The app is now also recording informations about controller used, driving aids, and other parameters.
   Live Timing Guide: added section "Common problems and resolutions"
   Website updates: driving aids added. fixed small issues.


31/03/2013: v0.9.9_003

   fixed issue which, in some cases, prevented reading all driving aids correctly.
   fixed issue which, in some cases, allowed to record an invalid laptime in practice


03/08/2013: v0.9.9_004

   fixed dual core issue: performance improvements

Known Bug:
- Names with quotes ( ' ) are not properly handled. I will be fixed asap. Thanks to Bruno Giampa' for reporting the issue.

More to come:
This is just step 1 of our app. We will keep improving an adding new features. We are already working on a new version that will show which controller type has been used (keyboard/joypad/wheel) and driving aids. Thanks to GamerMuscle for the nice idea

Luca just reported that he solved the problem. Should work now without issues even with quotes.

guys if you have any suggestions on how to improve our app, or to add new features, don't hesitate to post it here.
We will see which one are feasible and eventually incorporate them in the next releases.

[PB/POSITION INDICATOR]
Add a blinking PB icon in case you've done your Personal Best time in the last lap.
Add a if you've improved your position from the previous lap
Add a if you've lost positions from the previous lap



[CONTROLLER CONFIG/DRIVING AIDS] we are already working on it
add controller configuration and driving aids used in your best lap.

I get 'file cheat error'. Does this mean that i'm cheating?

It means that you haven't installed the new version of Assetto Corsa TP v0.9.8, or that we finally discovered how you can be so fast...cheater!!!!

i like it very much! it's good to have all your friend from RSR in the timing list
i'd like to have all my name displayed, like all the long names
mine is cut Leonardo Ratafi , a bit more characters allowed would be nice if possible.
at first i didn't know how to display the list in the game but i followed the instructions again and no problem

how do you change the name, if somebody else wants to try some laps in the same pc? is it possible?

I think today I saw the file with the name is im the Appdata/Local folder, the folder is called F.GEK and in the subfolder is the file with the name in it (if I were on the Pc I could tell specificly)

Unfortunately in this phase licences are not there yet. That's the reason for asking the user name when the app starts up for the first time.
When AC will be out, for sure we will include flags as well. This is just a temporary solution.
Our app will evolve a lot in the next months. We have good plans to use it also for prequalifications and to support our championship races.
