RSR Live Timing

I installed by copying the 2 folders (\icons\ & \RsrLiveTime\) into their positions in AC_TechPreview\
Then I started AC and when asked did write my name into the RsrLiveTime menu.
Without driving any laps(!) I exit´ed AC.
But on exit AC did freeze for about 30sec before it closed down with an AC crash report saying something about some RsrLiveTime files.

OK the only possible error point must be that something must have gone wrong when I entered my name to create a RsrLiveTime account(too long name?)
So to be able to create a new account with a slightly other name I then:
1. deleted the RsrLiveTime files in the 2 folders (\icons\ & \RsrLiveTime\).
2. Copied some new fresh RsrLiveTime files/folders into their proper places
3. Started AC.

But this time It was not possible to enter a new name because the RsrLiveTime app did allready start up by "itself" when I got into hotlap.
But nothing happens when I drive my laps!

It looks like the app connects to the server but then does nothing.
There are just some empty lines without any laptimes!!
OK. At least when I close AC down it dont freeze anymore:-)

But when I consulted the RsrLiveTime install folder there is an error log saying:
richiediDatiAc err Length cannot be less than zero.
Parameter name: length

Tenta ac 4

Some help would be appreciated because this live hotlap idea is great (at least principally )

But actually I dont know if it was the loooong name I entered that was the problem.
If it was possible to start all over with a new name entering then I could try to use a shorter version of my name.

As I say in my post the app starts now up OK after my firewall has asked if the livetime thingie are allowed to connect to the net and act as a server. I allow this and then the empty menu lines are just staring at me while I drive my slow:-) hotlaps.

Do not be scared! It is a time cheating but I see it from time off tackle if it does not work. Clear-so please.

Guys, please use the app in hotlap mode only. we are aware that there is an issue in practice mode, and we are already working on it. it will be fixed as soon as we can.

Did you forget me and my problem?
I still would like to use the LiveTiming app but cannot because no laptimes are shown (and uploaded).
But at least Im not so slow anymore ;-)

Guys I have a problem, everytime I type in a username and click on "Save" I get thrown back into the AC menue.
Somehow the app does not accept me/my connection. In log is written "errore Normalerweise darf jede Socketadresse (Protokoll, Netzwerkadresse oder Anschluss) nur jeweils einmal verwendet werden".
As if there is someone out there still registered with the same connection, networkadress or so, which so is not accepted by the app.
v0.98 is already installed.
Same log insert happens, when I doubleclick on the .exe manually. Maybe my Win7 blocks the .exe or s.th. like that.
I don't remember which name I typed in at the very first start a few days ago btw., if that does matter, but it 'crashed' like this back to the menue from my very first try, no name was ever accepted or whatsoever.
Maybe just a firewall problem like Morgens N. below mentioned. Will try to solve it.
[Win7 is very 'complicated', everything gets blocked at standard settings and so on.. . The older Win versions were much more useable for 'technicans', in Win7 instead you never find your way. When you search for certain settings in Win7 you always have to go through a weird sort of unstructured menue-jungle until you get what you were searching for.]

Because partly by your assistance I have figured out what the problem was.
And now I have got the LiveTime app working 100% perfect
And my lonely hotlaps are much more fun now. Much more.
So I think I will donate a small amount of money

The problem was my firewall.
Eventhough I did tell it to accept the LiveTime app to connect to the net the app was not allowed to use AC to connect to the net.
So I had to use some harsh words against the firewall to make it understand what I wanted. Very harsh words

So now I just have to get my laptimes further down

Having missed my lap I cut the last two turns of the track and my time was recorded. It should not be valid.

your time has been deleted as requested.

Please use our plugin in HOTLAP MODE only. Over there if you go off track your time will not be considered valid automatically.
Unfortunately we noticed this issue on the practice mode only after the release. We are already working on an update and this, together with other features and improvements will be released soon.

For me still no success to get the app work. I unblocked the complete firewall rules in Win7 for that .exe for both incoming and outgoing connectoins.., but AC still crashes back to its menu when I click on "Save" in the app.

another strange behaviour:
Before playing with firewall settings, I once put the administrator rights for that RSRLive.exe at 'on'. The strange thing was that with just this thing -and nothing more- changed, I could not even load any session anymore in AC, it was loading the track and so on, but then immediately crashed back to the menue just right before the first ingame screen is to appear. Same 'crash back to menue effect' as if I click on "Save".

After re-reading Waechters post I can at least say that the crash behaviour on your puter is quite different from my problem.
So Im not sure anymore that it sounds like a similiar firewall problem.
On my puter the app never crashed.
And the small LiveTime window opened up as it should when I was hotlapping.
It was only the display of my own and the closest competitors laptimes that didnt work.

I just have an idea for a much more informative and entertaining LiveTime Standing listing.
Instead of allways being forced to look at the SAME(!) 15 fastest drivers it would be much more entertaining and informative if there was:
1. only 1 search possibility (2 as now is pretty redundant because you get about the same info in both).
2. When you search for a name then you should get that driver displayed in the middle of the Standing listing and his closest 7 competitors before and 7 after him.

I have tried to display how it would look after a search for Mogens Nielsen.
Because no offense guys but who really care about allways being forced to look at the 15 fastest when you honestly only are interrested in the drivers close to you (and maybe the absolute top driver too).

All that is written there in the log, I quoted in my first posting [no.37].

in English it is s.th. like: "error Usually each socketadress (protocoll, networkadress or access) is only allowed to be used once."
(As if there is already someone registered with the same (IP) Adress.)

Also redownloaded and reinstalled every file of the app several times, but with no change of course.
