RSR Live Timing

One more surprise from the Radiator Springs Racing Research and Development team: we are working on a brand new Live Timing tool.
To have full control on it, we decided to design our own architecture (Andrea-Luca), and we to start developing our own tool (Luca).

Today we reached the first milestone: the game server tool is able to communicate with the server web.
We are really happy to share with you our very first step. All logs are now published realtime to the webpage.

We will obviously start working on a nice interface, but the most difficult part is done.

We hope we can start using it from the first races of our new championships.

as I said at the beginning this is just a proof of concept. It's not meant to show you informations on the right way, but just to show that we can publish data in real time.

w8,so if u can publish real time data then u can make something like lfs remote?

unfortunately in the log there is nothing about the car position, so that is not possible at the moment.
We have plenty of nice ideas, but it will take a bit of time to implement them all, since we do all this in our (little) spare time, between work and families.
We can find alternative ways, but it's not at the moment on the top of our list.

The good thing is, that the architecture is modular, so it will be easily adaptable to new sources (AC...for example, whenever it will come).

Luca is keep working on the Live Timing. He is now gathering realtime informations from the track and showing some aggregated data too.

This is still just a proof of concept, and far from being paged in a useful format. Luca is now just experimenting a bit.


We have a request for you: have you seen any example of live timing that you like? Do you have any suggestions on things that are nice to have?
Can you show us some examples? We can eventually try to do something similar.



Check what's going on at the moment on our server

The way it is now looks good already ...we can see the list of best laps in the server ...

I never saw any tool like this except from LFS remote but i think a good thing can be to use it in a race showing the results, times, difference between drivers after each lap like they do on tv for formula 1 ... and when we finish the race we can load that data and see how the race was ... and maybe a tool to insert lap results and difference bettween 2 drivers when we edit a video after the race to make it look more like a pro video?

just a ideia ...

how many times is updating in every race???
because when you are seeing times the screen dont stop refreshing times, blinking..
And i think maybe something is wrong, in my last race i made a 1:30,6xx and it did not get it, only other 1:30,801.

One little issue I recognized, just regarding the displayed chat text: Once you set a comma in a comment, the text afterwards the comma is missing in the Live Timing Tool. So as one example yesterday I wrote in chat "nice manouvers, great", what is displayed in the chat is just the text before the comma: "nice manouvers".

Could there currently be a little problem with the update of fastest laps ? I did a "Marco Waechter, Time: 1:33:468, Intermediate time: 0:40:440 at lap: 6"
for example (in quali a few minutes ago) and I also saw Vaggelis doing several 1m33_xxx laps in a race this night, but none of this/his laps was being updated to the 'best laps' rank anymore.

Sorry for that. But only the web page is wrong.

The data is correct but only hidden for now.

Stiamo lavorando per poterlo integrare il più possibile nella gestione gara.

Nkpro non ci da molte info, siamo noi a costruirle, quindi bisogna metterlo a punto bene prima di mandarlo in online con tutte le sue funzionalità
