Second race of the Radiator Springs 500 Abarth Series 2012.04: A1 Ring

Here is the schedule:
Prequalification with live timing for all the week preceding the event
drivers from 1 to 15 in group A
drivers from 16 to 30 in group B

Thursday 8 November 2012
21:00 (CET, UTC+1) Briefing in our Chat
Qualification: 20 minutes. No restriction on the amount of laps
Warmup: 5 min (waiting time before the race session)
Race 1: 10 laps
Warmup: 5 min (waiting time before the race session)
Race 2: 20 laps

For the racing day, server will be with password. You will find the password in the control center.


Please make sure you have the latest version of the track.

Probaly the server doesn't work today morning because my best time isn't saved and it doesn't count my laps too. My time is 1:50:079.

it might be that the live timing went down. I'll start it up once I'll be back home tonight (or maybe some of the other RSR can do it before ). Don't worry, anyways all laptimes are recorded on our logs, so your time will be updated as soon as we start the live timing again.

I recorded a live hotlap of mine
I tried to drive a very clean line and always used my braking points, I was sliding to much in the last corner as you can hear and see on the timer in the bottom box, but the rest is how I drive around this circuit

If you dont achieve lower times I would reccomend to change the setup, it helped a lot to me but it was very tricky

Have fun with it, sorry for the bad audio quality but I dont know where it comes from since on my pc audio quality is how it is ingame

Here is the entry list for the event.
Group A: positions from 1 to 15
Group B: positions from 16 to 30

Remember that you need to be allocated to be part of the event, and you need to do some lap on our server. You check who is online and other drivers lap times on the Live Timing.

Please help us out placing your allocation for the race in time, so that we can organize the race properly, setting up the servers in advance and we will not lose time during the briefing.

If your name doesn't appear in the entry list, although you've done a lap and you are allocated, please contact me, not later than Thursday at 19:00.

Please also update your allocation to "Driver will not participate" if you are not able to race, otherwise you will leave empty places in your group.

Wonderful races yesterday. I've been really happy with my pace, and to the great fair play on track. I had great fun with Vincent, in race 1. We've been fighting wheel by wheel for several laps, having great fun. Great to be confident that your opponent will leave you just enough space all the time. That's pure racing! I love it.
Looking forward to see the video Vincent will do!

Great fun even in race2 with Giorgio and Maarten. Such a pity I hit Maarten when I tried to cross the line, throwing him out of race at 2 laps to the end.

Lovely track. A lot of very nice battles.

wow. that was a close finish! When the gap is so short, you might see a different result on screen and on the server logs. In any case the log is leading. I'll double check once I'll be back home, but I assume that gpcos is right.

yes. it was a big and fair race. i really enjoyed it, that was my first race ever in fight as this. hopely next week the same.
And I think you're right, the official result isn't good. I can't check my lapchart, too.

I just hope the next races will be the same fun and as fair as yesterday !

In the second race I had a fight with Fulvio in the first laps, I tryed to attack very often to slow him down but then when he had a bit more space he showed me how to drive and did (i think) the fastest lap of the race and then he was to fast to catch (congrats ), and the rest of the race I had a great race with luca, unfortunately with some little (but no serious) contacts and in the last 2 corners I made a big mistake and Luca was hitting me in the back beeing faster but that made me faster and so I could keep my second place with a very small gap

I will do the video as soon as I have more time, this weekend I will renovate at home

Race Directors decided to assign penalties for the accident in race 2 in group A, assigning 6 points deduction to the drivers Antonio Lallo and Danilo Biggio. The accident was in the red zone on a 20 laps race and involved several drivers. This is a reminder for everyone to pay even more attention during the first phase of the race when drivers are close to each other. We expect drivers to be careful and avoid taking too much risks, especially in red zone (first 5 corners of the race).

I'm really happy that the direction took the decision by itself.
This time i was going to open a ticket against Biggio.
I think it's all about respect; respect for you guys, that put work and money to organize this championship; and respect for the other drivers that would like to have a clean and funny race.

I still need to find the best balance with fraps. which settings do you usually use. Here is 60 fps full size...18 Gb for a 6 minutes video, and still i'm not too happy about the video quality!

The results of the b group are not correct. I can't check my lapchart and even my fastest lap isn't correct. I think something went wrong with the server. Please, if somebody have time, look after it.

It is very nice again to see how close we were racing, unfortunately I slept a little bit at T3 and flew out

I have "only" 30fps and full also full size, then I convert it with AnyVideoConverter to WebMovie format with highest quality option and then upload it :-)
