Conle semislick avevo fatto 54.8, ma è un'anguilla. Peccato non avere due classifiche a seconda delle gomme usate, che con alcune auto comportano tempi molto diversi.

Re: Assetto Corsa Video Gallery

Re: Assetto Corsa Video Gallery
If you would use default track temperatures of 26°C air and 32°C track on your rank laps, instead of using higher (and here and there much lower) temps = more grip, your laps would be more compareable between others.
For sure really nice and fast driving though*. I don't really wanted to be an as**** by telling stuff about temperatures .
*I guess they would be hard to beat for most people, even when going for the same track temps as you used.

Re: Assetto Corsa Video Gallery
If they didn't want you changing temperatures, they wouldn't put a temperature slider bar in the game. Its just another adjustment you make to find laptime.
Next you'll be complaining that I adjusted the tyre pressures.

Of course everybody can do what he wants with the sim and car-setup, just complaining a bit about the (track-)conditions, which I like to be similar for at least the rank times for comparison.
No offence there.

Write a letter to kunos and ask him not to allow temperature adjustment

Re: Assetto Corsa Video Gallery
I'm just a bit more oldskool (and "old"/older).
The only thing that popps up into general people's eyes, when you loaded/started a session for doing hotlapping, is the car setup.
In real world racing you can't and never ever could change the track temperature either (for qualyfying) . All is and should be down to the driving and car setup (as I said I see this a bit more oldskool than probably younger & enthusiastic sim racers might do, who might have more fun trying out all the track temperatures than me ).
Adjusting track temperatures out of the game menue, then load always reload a session and test what temperatures might be best, is a bit silly to do for me at least.

Re: Assetto Corsa Video Gallery
You're welcome to do it the 'ol skool' way, just don't complain when you're not competitive I see it as just another variable to tune, no different to the setup. I don't see the point of artificially handicapping myself.
If enough people care about it, just change the way the ranking system works to only allow laps at default temps. Otherwise, from what I can see at least, the vast majority if not all WR laps are completed with fuel off, tyre wear off and non standard temperatures. Im only interested in competing on a level playing field, not one slanted against me.

Re: Assetto Corsa Video Gallery
Yep, no problem at all, everyone can do as he prefers, since there's a pro rank as well.
Some historic Monza66 (fits to 'oldskool' as well ) current pb laps of me (my Lotus49 pb and a nice 1:30.8 min. in the F40 S3 on only semi-slicks both got lost or weren't saved as a replay unfortunaltely. So I had to record 2-4 tenth slower laps of those mentioned):
[cars used: 2xF40 on semi-slicks, 2xF40 S3 on semi-slicks, 2xF40 S3 on slicks90s, BMW M3 GT2, KTM X-Bow, BMW M3 E92, Lotus 49, Ferrari 599XX Evo.]
I like the track (a fluend to drive mid speed & high speed corner track), the fast right-hander corner 1 (& the fast left hander at the place of today's variante ascari) is epic. In real world back then, when you would have entered that corner beyond the grip level limit, you could have been dead. Though with today's race-cars safety and grip and so, you wouldn't lose you life in the track barrier anymore, gladly. So it's a bit sad that such corners & tracks does not exist anywhere anymore.
Also the (extremely) higher curbs of back then force you to drive like the track originally was built and meant to be driven.., such thing might be missing on many ot at least some of the modern tracks as well.

Re: Assetto Corsa Video Gallery
I don't know, why the compressed yt video has so many artefacts (looks blurry many times), because my uploaded video has no artefacts / was compressed with H.264 at high quality bittrate this time also, and runs smooth at 60fps.
Maybe longer videos like this (52 Min.) are being compressed much more by yt than shorter ~5 Min. videos.*
Only thing I know for sure is that the video format 16:9 (and an unusual size of 960x540 -half the size of the Full HD res. by using the 'half size' rec. in Fraps-) that I uploaded, is not perfect for yt, because yt wants 4:3 videos uploaded for better quality (like 640x480, 960x720,..).
*Update: No, shorter video does not really make a difference. I uploaded a single 2 min. video of the same bonnet cam hotlap recording with the F. 599XX Evo as used in the prev. video to compare it with the previous upload. It has the same overall quality (washy blurry moments at quicker video movements and since it is a quicker car the blurryness is most visible in that recording example).
Update 2: It think now I know the reason: My video size does not reach the 'HD-border' to be regarded as youtube'-'HD' (minimum 720p, 1080p).., because I
need to use 'half-size' recording option in Fraps otherwise my PC would not handle the recording performance wise. And therefore I always get a res. below 720p vertically (1080p / 2 = 540p only). Using a resolution of 1280x960 (4:3) instead + half-size recording option of Fraps = getting common a yt resolution of 640x480, gives better compression results than upload a video at 960x540, which then is still compressed with same bitrate as 640x480 yt-internally it seems..., because it is not regarded as yt HD-level yt-internally, and therfore there are more artefacts after those fix yt-compression rules at a 960x540 compared to a 640x480 yt video.
So I will use the 1280x960 (4:3) in replay + half size rec. of Fraps = 640x480 (4:3) video instead next time, though I would rather record a 16:9 picture :\.

Re: Assetto Corsa Video Gallery
