Yesterday I updated my drivers to 11.4. These drivers have been optimized for the 6000 series with up to 70% improvement for some games. With the 5000 series a modest increase of 5 to 15 fps was also reported, so I updated.
Ive been running Salzburgring lately but with the 11.3 drivers I have been getting low framerate compared to other track
min 50 max of 83 after installing the new drivers I was disappointed not to get a geat increase in performance (prob about 10 fps increase.)
The last couple of weeks netkar hasn't felt a nice to drive as I remember so I decided to re install netkar which restored the feel to how I remembered it, Not only that I noticed a good increase in fps going from min 60 to max 110. But when I changed the driver settings for antisotropic to application settings my fps shot up to min of 120fps and max of 240 with
Salzburgring and a max frame rate of 350 with Hungaroring.

Im not 100% sure that antisotropic is still set to 16x with application settings but Ive not noticed a difference in picture quality with override settings Also of note is that with the 11.4 drivers box antialaizing doesnt look any different from edge detect.

Lastly Ive been playing shift 2 a lot lately and with the old drivers try as I might I couldnt get shift to look decent with antialaizing but the new drivers cured this as well.

The only negative thing Ive found with the new drivers so far is that the grass textures in the mirror on the T-B show up as white.

You can't see grass in mirrors at TB with any video driver: mirrors dont render pixel shaders...

Ah, I thought it was just me (I've had all kinds of graphical glitches since v1.2).

Well F me sideways I never noticed that before.

Has anybody else noticed a increase in frame rate with the new drivers?

I'm playing with 1920x1080 resolution and before I had around 50-60 fps and now with new drivers I have around 220 fps.

The best thing is that it gives the same gains with FVA. Went from struggling to get enough frames for vsinc to min 150 to max 200. And finally anitialaising works. With x8 anti edge detect 100-120 fps, x16 anti and E-D 65 to 90fps.

Knocked 1.5 seconds of my Mugello times within 5 laps. Fva just got a new lease of life.
5 more laps and another 1.5 sec off.

Im running a HD5850, just poped up to AMD to grab the new 11.4, only to find their NOT for the 5series cards.

Which is a pain, as Ive had issues with 11.2 and 11.3 crashing and recovering at least twice a day.

Looks like its upgrade time..... AGAIN, this is getting expensive, the 5850 is only 12mths old.

I hate technology sometimes, lol.

As you can read on the first message, that was an early preview. It would be nonsense to not release drivers for 5xxx series. There's no need to update, a 1 year old card still works great (especially with a 5 years old sim).

Thanks Andrea, didnt realise the v11.4 was a preview release, I have aquired the 11.4 preview software, heres hopeing they fix my video card crashes.

Mine is HD5850 and it worked fine!

Ok, I installed 11.4 yesterday and havent had a V/card crash, so it seems to of fixed my issue.

I have also notice a definite improvement in frame rates and rendering times in all games.
