sorry, i didn´t know the video was private, i just saw it in one of my youtube subscriptions.
I hope and i trust everything is going to be as close as real life as you can get, knowing you are doing a "mod", sort of say with no official support, it´s really challenging and very difficult I bet.
the only "supercar" i´ve ever driven in a track for a few laps it´s a porsche 911 Carrera 4S 996, and even though it has grooved tyres, it has lots of grip

Don't worry. Not an issue at all for people of our community. We love sharing our things and keeping you up to date on our development.
The problem with sharing a video like that would be that, most likely, will be published somewhere else. Showing an unfinished version, made mainly for testing, can give bad image of our project, despite the hard work we are doing every day.
About the car data, if you look around, you can actually find much more than you can imagine. Then, the more you study, the more you understand the topic, and the easier it gets to find new keywords for your research. Obviously there will be always information missing that you have to guess. But don't think it isn't this way for Kunos too. The main difference is that, with his experience he can easily do some more accurate prediction.
I've to say, anyway, that the parameters we are missing are a pretty small percentage compared to the real data information that we actually put in.
For sure we don't expect to get anywhere close to the work that a professional teams like Kunos Simulazioni can do, but I guess that's clear to anyone
We are willing to do something as accurate as you possibly can, putting all our passion in it. We really hope you will like the end result.
About the grip, I'm sure the 911 felt pretty stable and grippy. That was my very same impression while driving the Gallardo at Zandvoort. The problem is that, in a track day, with a car that is new for you (and pretty expensive too), you don't dare to go anywhere near the grip limit of that car, even if feels like that. For you is damn fast, but a professional driver can do the very same corner much much faster.
The problem is that we usually don't really experience the real grip of those cars in real life, unless we are real drivers.
In the last days we are trying different options to set the car. One of our key test is to get around the 1st corner at Prato. At the beginning all the times we were getting there without lifting off, we had our car either understeering or oversteering. Changing here and there we got to a much better handling over there.
In any case looking at the speedo, you will see that you get there around 270 km/h. I really doubt the most of us will dare to do the same in real life without lifting off. In the sim is easy to underestimate speed, and this gives, sometimes a completely different perception.
Same goes with brakes. We had the perception that the car wasn't braking enough, although the braking space was exactly as the specifications. What we decided at the end was to mount ceramic brakes, having data for that too, and we finally got even on the sim something we were considering realistic.

Yesterday we started a second phase of our project: a private beta test with a small number of drivers, to get a feedback and to sort out the issues on our car.
Here a nice video, created by Simon Batina, driving the Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 Valentino Balboni uphill on the Trento Bondone track.
Bare in mind this is just a beta version, where the 3d model and textures are not complete. We will show in the next days some more details about the new 3d model, that Gek is refining.
Setup also, in this phase, is widely open. You will maybe notice that the car is pretty low. This will not be allowed (not at this extent at least) on the official release.
As you will easily understand from the video, the car is a great fun to drive...enjoy!

Quite some work from Gek in the last days on the car model (still not finished). Simon created the first skins too.
Yesterday's test went really smooth, and we had really a lot of fun. There are still few things to be checked on the physics, but the general feedback was quite positive. I'm happy about it

We spent the last weeks with one goal in mind: having a good car handling.
Our approach is simple: use real data, study as long as we have a good understanding of how any parameter affect the car behaviour, having feedback from drivers that drove this car in real life, and a lot of tests and experiments.
Our testing sessions are getting good results, and we are improving day by day. We are getting really positive comments from our testers, and we feel that we are getting closer and closer to the public release, although we still need to do some work on the 3d.
Some days ago we had a lot of fun watching Maarten Steverink having fun drifting our Lamborghini around his home circuit. He used to do the same in real life, and he is trying out similar setup settings, to test our car in extreme conditions.
His impressions? Well...I think the video says it all.

Few more hours to the public release.
While waiting you can start painting your brand new car.
Here is the link for the Gallardo Skin template.
Tonight there will be the first shakedown or our car. See you on track!
