Redline KS2 Championship Empty Redline KS2 Championship

Post by MikaRaymond Thu Mar 15, 2012 10:22 pm

As some of you may or may not know, RSR decided to drop the KS2 championship this year in favour of the Lamborghini and ARS championships. As a result of this, we (Redline) are pondering with the idea of hosting our own KS2 championship for the people who still wish to compete in this class.

This thread is solely here to gather interest to see how many drivers and teams would be interested in competing. Nothing is final yet.

The championship will be made up of 9 races, each seperated by 1 / 2 week gaps on a Sunday night. Events start at 21:00CET, with the server opening 30 minutes beforehand for an optional warmup session. Points will be based on real f1 results (25,18,15,12,10,8,6,4,2,1) and the race format will consist of a 15 minute qualify session with a 45 minute race. Pitstops are mandatory.

There will be a maximum of 2 drivers racing per team. Team skins are also mandatory.

A rulebook is currently being written but the above information is finalized.

    Calendar:
    Sunday April 01 - Melbourne
    Sunday April 08 - Istanbul
    Sunday April 22 - Barcelona 2010
Sunday April 29 - Magny Cours RSR
    Sunday May 13 - Hockenheimring
    Sunday May 20 - Spa 2010
    Sunday June 3 - Monza
    Sunday June 10 - Suzuka
    Sunday June 24 - Interlagos

Who would be interested in competing?

For me probably not / not yet, I am a bit tired of driving the KS2 all over again. (Also since I mostly can't reach the laptimes of the fastest five,
like Clive, Gek, Lallo and you on many tracks in race-stints (except on tracks like Monza, Interlagos,..) though I tried anything).
So next I prefer the following RSR mixed stuff. After that I'm maybe open for pure KS2 season again.
    ---
I generally hope that there will be a good count of competitors still in NKPro for our leagues, there seem to be less and less I fear.. :\.
I miss the days as J. Waagenvoort organized leagues on his site, he always could attract so many different people there to take part ('good old days').
Not that nowadays on this RSR site and others there's anything worse organized, but it seems / I guess especially J. Waagenvoort was regarded as a kind of
'major instance' ('hero' Wink ) by all the drivers, so that's why everyone (so many) went there wanting to take part too.

Mika, I think the idea of a KS2 champ is good, I like this car, and I would be happy to partecipate....My only concern is about the paople can join it. Last year lot of people did just the first races, and then left it. The consequence was that we finished the champs with just few people. Having one more championship would means having less people in all the championship, your and RSR one. But I think this is the reason why you open this topic here.

I think also that a lot of people can't race on sunday evening, personally I spend most of the week-end away from my home...

It would be better to have the race on Monday, isn't it? If this will be the case, than I will partecipate to it...

    i don't know ...
    but i liket that car
i'm proposing once time ago new formula for champ to reduce gap between driver.
idea was.....no track/no car class associated to day event ...
    It will be decide during briefing with a random extraction algoritmh from a trackpack/carclass;
idea was to make all driver in the same condition on race day..
perhaps NKpro is to difficult to master for this formula and the risk was to have samll number of driver ....
i drive with this formula (only track extraction) in another RF champ and i think it's amazing ....
but it's true that in some race many accident occur...
    I's only idea
    i think always on it

    @Lanzino:
    Nice idea, for the fun.
But I think with this mode there should be at least a 40 mins practice session after the briefing (before qualy), to
adjust the setup (wings, gears, diff.) for the certain/random chosen track and to get used to the track.

30 minutes of free session ...for starting grid
    2 race with inverted grid
    1° sprint race
    2° longer rece
