Second race of the Radiator Springs 500 Abarth Series: Magione.


Here is the schedule:
Prequalification with live timing for all the week preceding the event
drivers from 1 to 15 in group A
drivers from 16 to 30 in group B

Thursday 4 October 2012
21:00 (CET, UTC+1) Briefing in our Chat
Qualification: 20 minutes. No restriction on the amount of laps
Warmup: 5 min (waiting time before the race session)
Race 1: 12 laps
Warmup: 5 min (waiting time before the race session)
Race 2: 23 laps

For the racing day, server will be with password. You will find the password in the control center.

Here is a lap around magione done by Vincent (thanks for the video). This is exactly how we expect everyone to drive.

Note: you can go on the kerbs like on the picture below, but no more than that.


Please if you do a mistake and cut for whatever reasons, lift off and abort your lap.
It takes a lot of our time to fix laptimes on the live timing.

Two corners at this (beside this really good looking lap) video are off the track. The quick one at 1:05 min. -but this is normal behaviour there, and allowed I think..- and especially the one at 1:19 min.: looks like going much to the inside fully over the curb as purposed, but does not matter so much, just wanted to mention.., I'm wide too sometimes when lapping.. (but not to the inside of slow corners -cutting- as at the one at 1:19 min., this is cutted a bit).

Marco, look at the 2012 serien thread :-). I asked there what is allowed and what not (the only reason I uploaded the video. Andrea declared that going over the curb is ok like in the video. And theres the thing with overtaking, i think there are two corners where you really can, first is T3 (left hander before slowest hairpin) and T6 (fast right hander after long straight) but for me its only T3, if you are close you need to brake earlier and accelerate late in T5, its nearly impossible to get close to someone on the long straight. If we do it like Imola there wont be any problems in my mind, just keep in mind to finish the race.

Ok , then I'll try to use the curb there too, but I doubt I'll be that quick anyway (didn't like the track with the Gvb -I was not very quick). Didn't read or remember about the declaration regarding the second of the last turn.

This track is beautiful but only with the 500, the other cars are to big

Shame I can't race this one (working) as it's a great combo. Anyway have fun guys =)

imho the best car for this track is the osella... .. it "floats" at each change of direction..

Remember that you need to be allocated to be part of the event, and you need to do some lap on our server. You check who is online and other drivers lap times on the Live Timing.

Please help us out placing your allocation for the race in time, so that we can organize the race properly, setting up the servers in advance and we will not lose time during the briefing. Thanks for your help.

i don't think i'll be able to do some laps on your server because i don't have internet.
But tomorrow i would like to partecipate to the race (i'll bring my pc in my bookshop just for the race)
Will i be allowed to race anyway? even if i will not make any lap on the server? obviusly on group b...

Sure, no problems Giorgio. If there are places available there is absolutely no problem. Just make sure you are allocated for the race.

Had quite good speed at this event, the quickest qualy lap was ok (the ohers were not clean enough on the lines sometimes), also race no.1. First I thought, I could finish on 3rd pos., but towards the last laps Matt came up unexpected quickly and could overtake me, he got faster towards the end, while I got problems with the tires after 9 laps or so (less grip of course and understeer, which prevented me to drive shorter lines). Race 2 went out very unlucky, could have been another top 4 result normally, but at first two cars of the top 3 in front of me collided, someone stood sideways on the track, so I had to go off. the track onto the gras to not hit that car, which throw me back onto the middle of the field where a lot of cars were fighting (a bit too ?) hard. After a lap or so someone hit me hard quite at full speed (-he missed to brake-) before the quick right hander and I went off. and had to drive on with many seconds gap onto last position. That crash happened by mistake, he apologized for that already, ..his car(setup) and so on was not in a good condition in that race, so he went into some mistakes like this one.
