Rule 5 (a.k.a. 5 corners rule): It is important to pay attention especially in the first part of the race, where all cars are close to each other. For this reason, we define per each track the “red zone”, where the 5 corners rule applies. 5 corners is just a convention. For each track the red zone might be extended till a safer zone.
The responsibility of all drivers is to avoid incidents in the first corners which can have massive consequences and therefore all participants must be careful.
Starts must be as clean and incident-free as possible. The finish line is not at the first turn. Turn 1 cannot be approached as it happens during the qualification session. The tires are cold, the car is heavy and the track crowded. Drivers must act wisely and drive safely for themselves and for the other participants, for example by:
    o braking earlier than normal
o maintaining a safe distance from the other cars during the first corners
o giving enough space to other drivers with some margin for error by other participants

Any collision from behind will result in the driver behind being considered as the guilty driver, unless the car in front has lost control.
In case of accident on the “red zone” the Race Director could penalize the drivers directly.

    24 Mar 2011: Crema Crema

The Radiator Springs Racing sign is determining the end of the Red Zone.

    VALID
    24 Mar 2011: Crema Valid

    NOT VALID
    24 Mar 2011: Crema Notvalid

At the chicane before the sector1-sector2 sign, there is no problem since the walls are there.
This has to be considered an exception of the general rule, since the wall will prevent anyway to cut too much.
    VALID
    24 Mar 2011: Crema Valid21

We suggest anyway for your own and other contestants's safety not to be too aggressive, especially when cars are close to each other.

As you may have noticed in the test races at Crema, there is not so much space to overtake safely on the first corners on the first lap.
Please be wise. Expecially on the first corners keep a proper distance, and don't take useless risk. We all know how it will end up.

Same goes for the chicane with the wall. At the first lap you will be tempted to try to overtake there, maybe braking a bit later. Even there, I think you might know what will happen with colder tires and 14 drivers around. Once more, think it twice, if the risk is worth the gamble.
My suggestion is, let's all keep it easy until the end of the red zone. Try to overtake only if you can do it without putting yourself and everyone else in a big risk of accident.

One more note on the chicane with the barriers: in case you decide to go off track to avoid the barriers, do it in a way that will not give you any advantage.
A gentleman way of doing it, is that if you are fighting with someone, you will give him position (obviously this decision depends on you only, and even on your relative distance).

Always be careful coming back on track, looking on mirrors and using your lateral views.

Good luck for tonight. Let's have two more wonderful races! drive drive

after racing with the guys on server B, it seems half of them dont even know the rules. you need to have a look at some drivers in particular because they are just a nuisance and dont listen to instrutcitions. it seems as though they ignore all the rules and just do what they want accordingly.

    quali - p1
    race 1 - p1
race 2 - DNF. started p6, took 1.5 laps to get to p1 and was about 50s ahead when i started dicking about trying to see how fast i could go through the chicane - boom. 20 minutes in the pits. oh well :F

    replay group B:
    http://rapidshare.com/files/454234107/osella_Crema_RSR_groupB_races.rar

race 1 was a small mess at the start.. . the guy in front of me (also like me on right track-side) entered his starting position just 4 sec. quite directly before the start/green lights and did a little bit of a slow start because of this, so I pulled away my feed from the gas for a moment to keep some normal distance between him and me, but the driver behind me did not realised this and crashed into my rear. So two cars + me were out right after the start pale .

But on the other side race no.2 ended in an unexpected win Smile . Did a quite clean race (especially in the first part and the last stint), just lost the rear one time on the brakes before the chicane which was the only big mistake.

Bad session tonight, I crash on my first lap during qualy and I have to sat at boxes waiting for repaired, my crew repair damage very fast allowing me to run a couple of laps so at least I was lucky enough to not start last.

I lost a position at start in favor of M. gilles Jr, while I'm chasing him a car that run off track came back crossing the tarmac just in front of me, I overtake him, but he bump me off (it was lag crash, ok) while approaching T9 I think, I looked at the replay and... well, before bumping on me he performed others careless exit/enter maneuvers and crashed someone else off.

Anyway, first race ends there so I think I will start last the next one, karma maybe?
Second race it's not better, at start I drive careful into T1, someone lost control or was crashed out, massive car's pileup in front of me, wrecked again, I wait for repair then to race again just to scrap some points, so boooring.

What I really hate more than being crashed on is to crash onto someone else, and I always try hard to avoid incidents; I really can't understand careless drivers, so much talk about safety and respect, and then there are always stupid avoidable incidents, then go blame on nkp netcode...

Group C - good clean racing. I managed to stuff it up when someone spun in front of me at the chicane and sat out the rest of the race (9 laps down!). All my own fault, always keep your eye on the apex. Well done KC for the two wins and thanks for allowing a late entry and some good racing.

Best event for until now in this league, for someone who in the first online laps in this track were very slow, I was even thinking not make it, since Saturday things start to go better.

I was 3th in the grid and became second at the start until the end, no point chasing Mika, as we was faster than me and I don't see who was following me, so just try to do a safe race.

In the second race, everyone start very well with no troubles in the front, but at the chicane brake, Mika was a bit optimist, Gabrielli to avoid him go in front and when he returns to the track, he goes wide and I follow him and after going to the grass, I spin and go back into the mid of the track.

Of course, with more cars coming, someone was going to hit me, sorry to the one who make it. The car doesn't seem too bad, but at the first corner of the second lap I lose it and hit the wall. Need a 4 min repair, which in the car seems more like 20 min, so after that, I just try to finish.

Big thanks to the organizers and grats to the winners.

race 1: i had a terrible start, lost 20 seconds and then tried to comeback. driving well i took the 4th position. another little error and i finished 5th.
race 2: good at the green light finally...but i decided to drive safety think at the long race. someone don't think the same and hit me hard at the begin of the second lap...30 minutes at the box...real funny Sad restart for the final 2 laps and 6th place.

This was my first race here and in full mode and it started off bad with a freak accident in the pits when me and another driver exited the pits at the same time and I took some bad damage. I ended up losing 10 minutes in the pits, but then when the car was fixed I forgot the steering wheel was turned as I was using 900 degrees of steering for the first time so I crash exiting the pits lol! So I end up losing the entire quali session. Then we went to the next session and there was a long wait time for race start, I wasn't sure if I was allowed to hit escape and run any recon laps so I just waited for the lights. Ended up sitting on my ass for 19 minutes lol! I didn't do any laps since the day before so I was pretty green and started off conservatively. All around great racing in group c. Very clean racing and great awareness by everyone. Kudos to all the drivers in group c for probaly the cleanest race I've experienced in netkar so far. Smile

24 Mar 2011: Crema 838853
