replay of the race:
Valencia-replay
puhh what a quite tough race.. on that street circuit thing ,
..I'm getting to old (also I'm not that fit at the moment) for this , my nerves (pulse) were/was at the limit this time .
It was overall a good race -some nice fights/overtaking stuff also again and again, so it was not that boring like many of the other races-, just a bit sad that
someone behind me at the beginning (lap 2) crashed into my car's rear (chain-reaction thing of three cars after a straight on the brakes.. as the guy
in front of me made a mistake), I could drive back to the pits to fix the car, but of course lost some time and positions at the very beginning because of this.
In the very last laps I touched the wall a bit two times and destroyed the driveability of my car, so that I got slower in the last laps and lost a position
to P.C. Structures who was some seconds close behind me.

Re: 30 Jun 2011: Valencia
I was looking forward to this race. I'd managed to put in enough time to learn the track and develop a stable and reasonably fast set-up, even getting up to the giddy heights of 12th on the Rank. Sadly I didn't match that performance in qualifying - a full second off my PB which put me 10th on the grid, but I was hoping a reasonable, consistent race pace would gain me some places. I never got to fully test that hope.
Off the start I was hit from behind into the first corner. Back to the pits then on the out-lap from that I was hit from behind again 3/4 way round the circuit, so that put me back to last, 1 lap down, in the pits without having completed a lap. I was a bit miffed. Clive Melbourne joined me after some troubles and soon made the pass. I managed to stay out of more trouble and on the track for the rest of the race eventually clawing my way back up to 10th and finishing a fraction behind Davide Zardin. Another lap and I think I would have had that 9th spot.
All in all an enjoyable race despite the frustrations.

Re: 30 Jun 2011: Valencia
So....first of all thanks to all and to radiators for the great race....my apology If I was too "warm" at the end of the race...
Qualify: during qualify I couldn't feel very well the car, I then decided to do a few laps with very low downforce, than as I went back to my high downforce set-up I did largely my PB going up to 2nd place.
Race: in T1 I was comfotably second, then I was hit at the back from my team mate Antonio...just a little touch that was detected just by me, in which I got a little damaged on the suspension (steering wheel not straight for half race!).
In T2 Antonio was outside and we had a second touch, this times detected just from him (see log...)...he got a damaged which forced him to go to box... in my opinion just two race accident; at the end of the race he blamed me for the accidents, which doesn't make sense, as in T1 was not my fault and in T2 he couldn't overtake me at outside...anyway, not a big issue..I'm fine and if race director will decide for some penalitis I will accept them (I hope nothing will be done...)
What is clear is that in T1 people doesn't respect the 5 corners rules...
I did a very good race comfortably in 2nd position, staying as close as possible to Gek. With 3 laps to go my gap from Gek went from 20 to 9 second, so I decided to push as much as I could in case he got some damaged. I went close to Potapenko which was 3 times lapped, and I tried to pass him after T2. He moved to the left to let me pass, but for some reason he kept full throttle and force me to go out of the track to avoid him, then when entering the track, we get in touch....
I think it was a mistake from him, but I would accept his apology, sorry if after the race I strongly balme you (anyway in a polite way, we are gentelmen!!)...
I went to pit to repair the car and Antonio pass me...I was finally 3th. I think it was one of the best race in my netkar carrer, it is not common to be within 10s of gap with Gek after 35 laps of race...Just sad for the accident with Potaenko...
Good race also for Antonio which was really fast and to Gianca/Andrea, really fast here...
Thanks again to all for racing....se you maybe in Silverston (if I will be not in holiday)...

Re: 30 Jun 2011: Valencia

Impossibile prendervi.

Re: 30 Jun 2011: Valencia
good race for me, even if the 7th place could be better. i started very well an i was 5th at the T1. unfortunately, the leading group (contact between grippa and lallo), braking hard. i did the same to avoid collision, but someone hit my in the back. immediately i felt the wheel lighter, anyway try to go on but when graziano begin to push me hard, i spin with a suspension damaged. graziano was able to avoid me, batina no. sorry simon. box to fix the car, 10th place... then i begun my comeback, passing waechter and dmjtri. another mistake in the 35th lap, luckily clive was behind enough to mantain my 7th final place.

Thanks for the replay. So it was Vyacheslav Potapenko who hit me into turn 2 (1) at the start and then Clive Melbourne took me out after I'd rejoined in T17.
Forgive and forget IMO. VP was IMO a real gent the rest of the race, giving track where appropriate but not slowing inappropriately or dangerously. Clive, well he was genuinely faster, could have waited a couple of corners but ... such is life, we all make mistakes and I can hope that others will forgive me mine.
