A full grid in nKPro? That's a rare thing indeed I think generally beta testers aren't meant to reveal stuff, granted it's a little different as this is a free update, but still it's unlikely the team will reveal details whilst testing is still ongoing.Olivier Boissel wrote:So Guys, who are in the test team, would you tell us some few's words about bug resolution, is the net code allow now very close racing ?

yeah they are, but what hes saying is people generally dont tend to tell other people whats going on behind closed doors, especially with beta testing.

Re: 1.3.0 Beta incoming
I think the plan was always for licenses to include updates through two version numbers, & as 1.3 will be the final 1.x release (plus any auto-updates I'm guessing), that's your lot. 5 years isn't too bad though, heck even 2 since I brought the game is decent seeing as Codies are trying to sell people another F1 game when the last one was $hite.

If we have to wait 6 months for a vital patch, i think i'll actually die of old age before nK2.0 is released :/

martin, all i ever see you do is moan. youve even posted a whinging comment on netkar central, what claims to be the #1 resource site for nkp. youre not leaving a good impression are you?

Re: 1.3.0 Beta incoming
Not really moaning, its more sarcasm. I dont actively seek out things to be pissed off about, just don't see a lot to be ecstatic about. Forgive me for not jumping for joy about this new car. It does genuinely interest me, and its been something i've wanted in the game for a LONG time. I'm just holding out for some actual positive progress before i start singing and dancing about it.
And my enthusiasm for netkarcentral was damaged somewhat when in the space of a year, only one person bothered to actually contribute. The idea of a community run site is that the community does their bit towards it. I'm too busy to run around the internet and post peoples mods and tracks. I figure if nKc was worth existing, people would contribute.
I only give my honest opinion. If you want positive spin put on everything, i suggest listening to your MP.
Aaaanyway. as i said, not really moaning any more than most people were when these problems first arose. I'm just of a rare breed that doesn't instantly forgive when the right thing is eventually done.
EDIT: Besides, i was actually defending Kunos when people were complaining about the cars being unrealistic, i defended the RSR testers who are (hopefully) doing their best to get the bugs found and ironed out quickly.
So.. uh.. ner ner?
I'll go away now.

Re: 1.3.0 Beta incoming
Not to be confused moan and discontent!!
the announcement of a new Vintage makes me not jump for joy, it is present in the update is good! no more.
only hope it make me jump for joy and I think most of us expect it to improve the Netcode, which will prevent up to controversial and little war!! lol
the rest, a little more difficult to drive the KS2, and F3, by limiting the support, better management of the approach of vibrators ( sidewalk) a larger share of management setup, which the 1.3 b, not really want to say anything! really very far from reality!

Re: 1.3.0 Beta incoming
You can't expect people to develop a website for you. I had a complete list of all tracks/mods etc. on a site hosted by the nkworld guys, then that went, & I was left with a corrupted database for all my efforts =) That's the problem with investing your time into a project someone else ultimately controls.Martin Hussey wrote:And my enthusiasm for netkarcentral was damaged somewhat when in the space of a year, only one person bothered to actually contribute. Haha, my local MP sparked riots a week ago by telling everyone to calm... off topic By now we all know the situation with Kunos, & where the money's coming from (not nKPro ), so we can't really blame him for focusing on work that actually pays the bills.

Re: 1.3.0 Beta incoming
Not asking people to develop the website. Just add the content that they have made so _everybody_ can easily use it. everybody does a little bit, and together a whole lot gets done. i CANT chase around the internet on multilingual forums getting tracks, so the idea was a user posts their track, and any updates etc for it. Simple and easy to find.
I expect a lot of new users quickly become overwhelmed by a 10 page thread about an awesome track, that has patches dotted about in it on multiple pages. Thats if you can find the track once its 6 months old and disappeared off page 1 of the forum. Forum search sytems often leave a lot to be desired, and unless you know the exact keywords, you're in trouble. In fact this was the main reason for starting the project. People were (are) racing tracks that i've not been able to find.
Buuuut, i've been working on the net for years now.. So maybe i have an idea of what *should* be right that other people dont.
Meh, either way nKC has largely failed. But its not going anywhere. We have the server either way so it doesnt really cost anything to run. Maybe people will eventually see things differently and decide to use the system. I'll continue to post on there when theres something interesting to ramble on about.

Re: 1.3.0 Beta incoming
Websites are all about content I spent ages going round multiple forums, downloading mods (installing them so I could give tips), trying to work out what updates were for what. Albert has f**ked that all up now anyway, but it was possible with enough effort =) I've been going through my database in Word & playing around with a Wordpress template, maybe we should collaborate if artistic differences allow us to

Some actions from our testing sessions.
Do you have any doubts if the Vintage Replica is going to be a nice car to drive? I don't think you will after this video

Hi.
Thank's for sharing !!!
Good to see that close racing is now possible without netcode problems.
The vintage Replica seem's really really fun to drive ; I think it will be a very usefully car.
Can't wait to try this new NKPro release

We leave the release dates to the official channels.davide zardin wrote:

Kunos is working night and day on it, experimenting a lot to have a better result. He completely rewrote the collision system, and seems to be pretty good now.
He is now looking into other critical areas too.
The current version is already a huge step forward from the public beta, as you can see from the video. The feeling is that you can be closer to your opponents with confidence. Results are promising.

Re: 1.3.0 Beta incoming
Is there any change to get good FFB feeling back which we lost after 1.2 version?
KS2 never had that good sharp feeling like F2000 did. After 1.3B was out, F2000 got KS2 style FFB and lost most of its FFB details. There used to have that every bump and million detail feeling. Now it's just soft and stiff. Much less accurate.

Re: 1.3.0 Beta incoming
The F2000 is back to be a wonderful car. The good feeling of that car, that was, IMHO, lost in the latest releases, is back, and improved.
The FFB is even better now, you can clearly feel what happen to you tyres.
I just did a lap in the beta and in version we are currently testing. You can definitely feel the difference! You feel the road much more. You feel the wheel more alive and communicative. Pretty nice!
