When I bought F1 2010 in preorder to try it as soon as I could (I was pretty curious), I've been really disappointed to see that cracked game could be downloaded even before the game was released!

It took 1 year before someone got interested into FVA, and 5 before the same person got interested into nKPRO.

Any software house knows that there is virtually no way to stop those things to happen. There are really talented guys out there!

Kegetys posted about FVA in finnish forum. He is not gonna release it.

It was FVA that make me look into NetKar and after bought it, it's been a long time since I don't use FVA anymore, no point in use it just for hotlaps, so it would be nice that Kunos and Ferrari made an agreement that who had bought FVA could also use it in Netkar.

FVA was cracked the day after release (iirc). From what other people have told me (so don't quote me on this ) Kunos has been fairly threatening with this kind of thing, for example when the Formula Ford was converted to rFactor. With FVA being Ferrari's (sorry Andi - Fiat's ) I guess it would be up to them to take any legal action. Even then I don't know what "crime" has been committed SimBin are generally tolerant of their content being ported between their titles, but as FVA is supposed to be a separate product, Ferrari might not be. IF the FVA content was converted to another sim' like rF then that would be a bad thing. As it stands I don't really see a major problem with this, unless if affects FVA sales (but as it isn't gonna be released it shouldn't) or if it affects any further work Kunos might not get.

P.S. I seem to recall someone being sued or at least threatened for converting a Ferrari from another game (can't remember the details though).

Out of the legal aspects, I think that a straight conversion of the FVA car could be not really easy since it should be checked if the physic work in the correct way also in teh netKar engine.
I strongly suspect it could be necessary some tweaks to make it working like a F1 car in the new "environment".

Different topic is about the tracks, that should technically work without problems also in netKar.
I really would like to have finally Fiorano on netKar...

Ferrari owns the FVA! Kunos is the supplier and manufacturer ( on behalf of Ferrari ) of the FVA

By the looks of it the guy swapped some files with the KS2 to make it work. The tracks should work fine, as we did see Kunos' server running Nurburgring (& this mystery 911cup car), & also if you open Mugello & Nurburgring in a text editor you see the paths C:\nkpro11beta3\tracks\mugello\texture & D:\graphics\nurburgring-nkpro\texture.

Ferrari have released a free simulation called " Virtual Race Ferrari " with a version ( superbe!!) Mugello, one can conduct different version of the current Ferrari road

but the simulation at the level of feelings is really very bad! by against the graphics are amazing

is it based on the ks2? what kind of setup adjustments can you make? does it use 30 wings or max 17?

The KS2 is based on the F10. You can see some setup options in kegetys video.

seem to be based on the v1.3 KS2 setups (just regqarding the wing value):

Unfrotunately the video-maker did not click on the 'corner - tab' to see what tire values are mentioned there.

I just wonder why F1 cars seem to need such a quite 'understeering' setup, the front Hz is much higher then the rear Hz [spring: 170N / 130 N]
(Hz difference is something like at my old crappy/imperfect KS2 setup I used all the time before the Hungaroring event) and the ARB with 70% at front is pretty high adjusted to the front as well. Maybe this beasts would be undriveable with less than that (lose rear).

I assume the understeery setup is so it's easier for people to jump in & drive.
