Never had a problem with ATi. Same can't be said for my experience with nVidia.

I used to despise ATi. Their cards were riddled with bugs, the cards were lacking in performance etc. A couple of years passed and i started having trouble with nVidia. I gave ATi a try, and was hooked Unfortunately their shakey start earned them a colourful reputation, which is these days undeserved. They consistently outperform nvidia cards at the same price point. The nVidia gtx480 performs roughly the same as a 5870. You can pick up an ATi 5870 for less than £200. No brainer.

you're probably right Martin, but the choice of a graphics card is a bit like choosing a car, each with its preferences and none is to blame, for my part I will totally change my config and I'll take a gtx 580 to replace my old GTX 285 with which I have never had a problem

Well im going for nvidia its already ordered .. hopefully its just the card thats gone

I actually wrote a ton on how everybody has their own opinions, but decided i didnt want to post an essay You're absolutely right. Its like the Australian V8 series. Ford Vs. Holden. Ford fans think the Ford is best, Holden fans think the Holden is best. Then theres people like me. I'll place my bets on whoever i think is best. If nVidia produced a card that truely impressed me in terms of performance and price, i wouldnt hesitate to buy.

I'll tell you what I think the GTX 580 Martin, I have a friend who has the latest ATI and he is very happy, except that it warms a bit, but it seems it's the same for 580, cards reach a large number of transistors it is inevitable

From memory, nVidia cards tend to use a lot more power. My nVidia 7950GX2 shot past 100ºC every time i played a game.

But yeah, ATi cards get warm. My pc is water cooled and the graphics core temperature still shows up at 75ºC.

Well. Actually, i'm not sure. sometimes it thinks its 75º, sometimes all the sensors throw a wobbly and it shows 25º. Thats what you get for using a damaged motherboard

I was also at that time a 7950 is the worst card that nvidia is doing 100/120 degrees was further crazy !!!!! but it disappeared with the series of 8800 which fell 50/60 at normal temperatures as a function of boitier

Yeah, the 7950 was a pretty terrible card. So two of them strapped together was just hilarious.

if not try compatibility to xp sp2 or even win2000

I know that netkar used to crash with 7 if desktop composition was enabled. Disabling it stopped the crash. It could be a continuation of that, although the conditions of the crash have changed.

i never had a crash before 1.3 and i never disable composition before so it was working it crashed only with 1.3

Just got half way through a race with 4 others. They all crashed at the same time. I survived. To be honest, i was more disappointed than i would have been if i had crashed :/

I do not understand what influence may have the desktop theme and effect on the implementation of a program, when in compatibility mode either, Kunos NetKar to ensure that managed directx 10 !!!!! who are for Vista and 7
Now it is understandable that the click on "Run as qu'administateur" is a good opportunity to prevent the crash, the case for RFactorI have Windows 7 Pro x64 seven, with 8 gigabytes of ram and I have suffered the crash things that I never had before, except once with 1.2 on Mugello

For me it's nks.exe, not netKar PRO_NT.exe which is crashing, so I tried to use XP's compatibility settings for it. So far no improvement. Have to wait for a patch and play other games.
