Re: 1.3.0 Beta incoming
Some first feedback from the Release Candidate we are currently testing:
- the new car, is really cool.
- some old cars have been improved. The F2000, for example, is now just fantastic. Kunos promised me he won't touch it anymore
- small improvements on the tyre model: as a result cars feel much better. More connected to the road, nicer force feedback, easier to understand when the car is understeering or oversteering.
- collisions between cars has hugely improved.
- we had the feeling that the multi improved too. We had some really close racing, and the feeling is that you can stay closer without risking much.
Obviosly there are some still some bugs, that we are promptly reporting to Kunos. He is working on it and releasing to us new fixes to test.
So far so good. We are all quite happy about this new version. It's a big step forward from the previous release.

I think it's important to know that he is working on it, instead of trying to report his predictions. He wasn't accurate enough when he wrote something on a public forum, I don't expect him to be accurate when he speaks with us. I know his plan, and I know that he is pretty busy with so many things right now.
He is currently working on fixing some bugs, and things are going fine. We see results day by day. Just be patient for a little while. I'm sure you will not regret it.

Re: 1.3.0 Beta incoming
Thank's for news Andrea
This is just that's missing to the community, I can understand a lot of things (Team busy on another work etc ....) but not the lack of communication from the Kuno's company
I hope they will understand and improve this domain ........
Happy testing

Kunos has been never been good on the communications. I doubt that's going to change.

Re: 1.3.0 Beta incoming
Hi all,
I have already talk about this but as beta testers are reading, ... Please, fix the car accelerating too fast (0-100Km/h), the too high top speed, and the too efficent wings (winged cars being too sticky); even if it takes another month or two, I think it will worth the time spent as it will make this already incredible sim almost perfect.
Thanks again to all involved.

Re: 1.3.0 Beta incoming
Hi Martin,
You don't understand what, please, the ks2 make 0-100km/h in less than 2 seconds (a real one go slower), the FF1800 goes up to 250/255 (a real one go slower) and we are a lot thinking that the winged cars are too grippy, no more and even if it's already very good, those improvements will defintely make nk perfect.
Be sure that I'm not trying to fight against anybody and that I think that nkpro is already the best sim available.

Re: 1.3.0 Beta incoming
KS2 is technically a fictional car. It may be based on something that exists, but in theory, Kunos could make it do 0-200 in 2 seconds. Formula Fords are a different matter though, but i tend to avoid anything that bloody dangerous so cant really comment on its performance
Personally, i dont find cars too fast or too grippy. I'm still plenty slow enough and fall off the track more then often enough

Re: 1.3.0 Beta incoming
Try a real F3 and even if the real car as always been under powered (that's what every racing drivers in the last 30 years have always said about this series because of it's huge wings) it is not that sticky; of course you can argue that the ftarget is again a fictionnal car (it would be childish, but you can), but as we are talking about sim (and not games) it tries to reproduce the real feeling/data and it's only a matter of license if Kunos talk about ks2, ftarget or f2000, his goal is to simulate a gp2, an f3 and a Formule Renault.

Re: 1.3.0 Beta incoming
for me my opinion is that the ks2 is a gp2 based car, this "simulator" tries to simulate if not then why its a simulator.. i think the ks2 has way too much downforce and tyre grip its too fast on corners, even faster than a formula1 on the downforce/grip department. iguess its a 7% too much

A small video of the new Vintage Replica. 400 bhp under the bonnet, and great, great fun!

Re: 1.3.0 Beta incoming
Laurent, Sanson,
Thanks for your support, let's hope that one day it will be adressed.
Please, beta-testers, could you report it to Kunos and let us know what he think of this (the too high downforce, the cars accelerating too fast and the too high speed).
S.
P.S.: Even if it's not corrected right now, it could be interesting for us to know his thought.

I think people miss something in mind when they say that the acceleration from 0-100 km/h is too fast with KS2.
It's natural that in a game the start from a completely standing to a moving car take a bit less time than in reality, 'cause we have perfect auto clutch, unlimited pratice possiblity how to start best, virtual tires / track conditions are always kind of more grippy also in a virtual simulation, where the track grip-level does not change, it stays always kind of the best possible -you know.. than the real stuff in reality in the first meters of acceleration from 0-100 km/h.
F1 drivers / cars have more 'technical stuff' which is happening at the start in the first few meters, so it takes more time to get from 0-40 km/h, also some cars in real use a higher frist gear-ratio ! than we try and
use in the game.
So comparing the acceleration from 0-100 km/h to the real is not very accurate, not so perfectly possible, maybe comapare the acceleration from 80-180 km/h for example
and then look if it is still too fast compared to the real in this acceleration area !
